CD ROM British South Africa Company DOUBLE HEADS 1910-1913 |
Robertson , Anthony |
This CD ROM by Tony
Robertson is a valuable aid for collectors interested in these stamps
According to Ian Johnstone : "It is a prodigious piece of work, yet it is brilliantly easy to access every one of the countless aspects of information and illustrations in it, and it has the added advantage of being very aesthetically designed. He really deserves to win major philatelic literature awards for it."
“In all his years of involvement in professional philately, which extends both nationally and internationally, the work which Tony has produced ranks as possibly the best single contribution to philately that he has ever had the pleasure of being exposed to. A must not only for Double Head enthusiasts but anyone remotely interested in the stamps of the Rhodesias and in particular the B.S.A.C. period”. These are some of the included chapters on the CD ROM Copies of photos of memorabilia associated with the Royal visit. Copies of the Postal Notice announcing the double heads, copies of press cuttings from the archives (many never before seen) in print, copies of letters relating to the issue and the Royal visit.
Flaws the 1d. section is especially detailed, monocoloured and bicoloured issues. The Clandestine Roulettes with copies of newly found letters from the archives. the specimens, remainders, imprints, perforations, forgeries, headplate printings, frameplate printing and colour and the human eyes. Secret marks illustrated by stamps and articles. Catalogue values for both the mint and used stamps from 1950 to 2005 indicating their rise or fall and showing this in graphic form comparing this with the FTSE and other forms of investment. Double Head collections at auction, postmarks and covers.
